There is no fuel available inside the national park and the nearest petrol station is at Yanakie, 37km from Tidal River. The entrance gate to the national park is open from 8am to 5pm, 7 days a week. If you’re visiting in low season or mid-week it’s also possible to pay for a site on arrival at the Visitors Centre. I had incredibly clear days and got to enjoy the place in relative peace. I visited in the middle of winter, which, although cold overnight, was not as bad as you might think.
